David worked as an accountant, mainly in the oil industry until he retired. He was a school governor and chair of finance for over twenty five years, initially at Langley Park Boys School and then the Langley Park Learning Trust. He is also a director/trustee at Blackheath & Bromley Harriers AC and a director of Norman Park Track Management Ltd.
