Back
As Principal of Hayes School, and as a long-established senior leader within our school, my involvement with Challenge Partners dates back to 2011 when the organisation was founded. As such, I have been involved in numerous Quality Assurance Reviews (QAR) and have been involved in other programmes as a coach and facilitator, including Get Ahead London (GAL) and the development of the Growing the Top (GtT) programme. The opportunity to visit schools across the National Network of Excellence has developed me personally and professionally, and has significantly benefited our school. I have been at Hayes School since 2000 having joined as a Newly Qualified Teacher and have supported other schools as a Specialist Leader of Education, Associate Leader and with NLE deployment. I have served as Co-Chair of Bromley Secondary Heads Association, am a board member of Thames South Teaching School Hub and am Lead Headteacher of Bromley Schools’ Collegiate, a School Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT) provider. In my role as Senior Partner of the Impact Hub, I have enjoyed understanding the strengths, challenges and needs of our various member schools as well as the motivations for working collaboratively through Challenge Partners, both locally and nationally. We are united in our desire to learn from and with each other and are continually finding new ways to collaborate around shared goals. The hub provides us all with an opportunity to look out beyond our schools, trusts and existing partnerships and we benefit from cross-phase working and working beyond our immediate geographical neighbours, reflecting the diversity of our hub. If two Heads are better than one, then just think what 24 Headteachers, Deputy/Assistant Heads and school leaders in a room can achieve!
