BackHannah joined Impact as a Trustee in January 2023. She has spent 10 years working for Japanese Investment Banks (Nomura and MUFG), largely, in governance and risk management roles, as well as a Funding Trader. As a Trustee, she brings her professional background of working directly with senior management, including holding them to account. Hannah is very experienced in changes driven by regulation, Audit and trading strategies to optimise financial resources.
At Nomura, she was on the Women’s Network Committee and was heavily involved in initiatives to improve gender representation at the bank. Hannah has extensively volunteered and made countless media appearances for a number of causes and charities, including women’s safety and adolescent mental health and regularly delivers key note speeches in prisons, schools and sports foundations. She is a qualified swimming coach and previously taught swimming to disabled children for Wandsworth Council.
Hannah was born in Tokyo, and came to the UK aged 5, unable to speak a word of English. She attended Wallington High School for Girls, in neighbouring Sutton borough, and joins as a Trustee as she had the privilege of benefiting from attending a top state, grammar school. She has joined as a Trustee, to use her enthusiasm for opportunities being available to all demographics, and regularly speaks at girls’ high schools to promote pursuing STEM subjects and opportunities for women in predominantly male dominated industries.
Hannah lives in South London, and outside of work, Hannah loves sport and ran 6 marathons in one year and has competed in Half Ironmans. She is also a ferocious reader, in particular modern historical fiction.
